Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) batteries are usually able to use 3 to 5 years. Life expectancy depends on several factors, including the use of capacity (equipment must be battery-powered model in number) and other environmental factors. Here are some of your equipment to ensure the best use of the principle of life expectancy:
1. Make sure your UPS Store in a cool, dry and well ventilated location. Ideally, UPS temperature of the placement should not be above 24 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, for ventilation purposes, are set aside each side about 1 to 2 inches of space, facilitate air circulation.
2. Every year, only when necessary for 1 to 2 times UPS run time calibration. Sometimes, you can perform run-time calibration to verify whether your running time is sufficient. However, the frequent implementation of run-time calibration will reduce the battery life expectancy.
3. Do not store the battery too long. New battery can store 6-12 months. After this time, it should use the battery as soon as possible, otherwise they will lose their large storage capacity. Not recommended for storage of used batteries.
4. Loads do not exceed the rated capacity of UPS equipment, 80%, as this will result in reduced running time. Load increases, the running time will be reduced accordingly. If the power can not supply full load and the UPS will soon run out of battery power and release it, which would reduce battery life expectancy. Note: To ensure longer battery run time, do the laser printer connected to the UPS battery backup outlets. Ensure that the laser printer using the “Surge only” outlet (using the appropriate model). For those who do not “surge only” outlet UPS, suggested that the laser printer is connected to a separate surge suppressor.
